Steven Spielberg's 2001 adaptation of Brian Aldiss' short story - "Supertoys Last All Summer Long" is a timely reflection for the world we live today. As we become emersed in this technology we are being warned of it's impact on our humanity, while on the other hand required to interact with this technology daily. One might look at all that has been lost due to our behavioral changes with a phones never being more than 5 feet from us at all times --- we can only imagine what impact this new technology will have.
If you are struggling with how to adapt today I would encourage you to spend some time with Fran Maier' article in First Things and then take some time to watch the film. Fran's linked encyclicals - 1 & 2 are also worth spending time pondering. We are in a new world, but a world where folks grounded in faith and reason have always helped others navigate the times.
