Book Added to the Library: Literature, What Every Catholic Should Know - By Joseph Pearce

The battle for what we watch and read centers around how we make decisions.  It is easy to say, "I want to read a book," or "watch a movie," but with no plan we are often times stuck choosing that which is foisted in front of our nose by an algorithm, marketing ploy, or simply what is available.   Browsing is not a physical process any longer and so a search for intentionality becomes important.  Personal reading lists can become rigid and leave little room for reflection as we rush to finish in time, but for some of us, without a list we would be lost.

Joseph Pearce's 200 page companion book is a quick read for anyone looking to intentionally structure their reading list and also have a Catholic perspective on why to read something.  There is a handy list in the back, but the rest of the book is established with a historical timeline.  You can start anywhere, but it is an intentional path for reading.  It is in the library -- feel free to request to borrow.  Email me or pick up during co-op.  atfuzz@gmail.com
