Recently Added Movies

 A quick note to let you all know that a few movies have been added to the library:

- Destry Rides Again:  Jimmy Stewart leads this one in a bit of twist on Westerns.  I have it under Classic's because it might not be for everyone, there are a few scenes which might require more explaining that you are ready to do.  If so skip it.  However, there is a lot to talk about in this movie.  Did the no gun thing work for Destry?  Why did Frenchy remove her lip stick in the end?  FYI all my kids have seen this movie and it is a favorite, but again, family dependent.  Probably not widely seen, but not to be missed.

- Once Upon a Time in the West:  Adults only, one of my top ten favorite movies.  If you can't make it through the opening 10 minute scene it is probably not for you.  Great guys-night-movie for the older crew.  Again read about it to make sure everyone is ok with it -- some scenes may need to be skipped depending.

- The Shop Around the Corner:  A request from co-op, and another fantastic Jimmy Stewart movie.  If you want to know what "You've Got Mail" was based on --- this is it!  Great Friday night movie and girl friendly!

-  Captain's Courageous:  Spencer Tracey!  This can be seen by all, and probably should be seen by all.  As my son Gabe pointed out, it is different than the book, but an incredibly beautiful story.  

Lastly, I have not catalogued it yet, but I just got The Red Turtle in today.  This is an anime, it is family friendly, and it is a collaborative movie with Studio Ghibli and several French studios.  It is a quiet movie, and a bit contemplative.  If you can't tell.... I like the beauty of the hand drawn art and the quiet moments Ghibli is known for in their writing.  Not for everyone, but could be ;)
